Taba works with mine operators in the remote regions of central and northern British Columbia, providing site infrastructure construction and services and ‘white space’ emergency problem solving and management.
Taba provides a full range of mine services, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Our services include:
- Earthworks: road construction and maintenance: tailings pond and dam construction, pit development, drilling and blasting
- Water and Sewer line fusing and installation
- General construction: camp infrastructure, temporary and permanent structures
- General services: snow removal, dust control, fueling, potable water delivery, sanitation, electrical and mechanical services
The majority of tasks involved in providing infrastructure construction services at a mine site can be planned, scheduled, budgeted and completed according to a timeline. There are many mine services companies that can do this. But mine construction is a complex business. The best plans can be derailed by unforeseen events – a sudden snowstorm, a broken generator, a ruptured pipe. These initially small problems can readily turn into large problems that can jeopardize the entire site development schedule.
With Taba on-site, mine managers have a reliable and dependable ‘go-to partner’ they can count on. They can rest assured that we will perform all those contracted tasks and activities safely and efficiently. And just as critically, we’ll take care of the unexpected—what we call the ‘white spaces’ of a project; those events and activities not specified in the contract. Taba has the people, the equipment and the creative problem-solving skills to quickly and safely step up, take charge and solve the problem. There is no quibbling about scope and budget, just the determined focus on doing what has to be done. When some contractors say “No, we can’t do that; it’s not in the contract,” Taba simply says “Let’s do it!”
Logging and Civil Projects
In addition to mine site services, The Taba Group provides services for logging projects and civil and excavating projects.
Taba’s Logging Division is a stump to dump operation including construction of logging and main line roads, tree felling, skidding, forwarding, processing, loading and hauling.
Taba’s Civil and Excavation Division provides excavation, backfill, compaction, site grading, sanitary sewer, storm water management, site drainage, site water, hydro/telephone/communications trenching along with site concrete and site paving preparations and base material installations.
